Data Center Engineer / Project Coordinator

Location: Middlefield, OH (Hybrid travel, 20–30%)

Multi-Wing is a global leader in customized axial fans and air-moving solutions for industrial applications. We work with OEMs and leading players across HVACR, data centers, and mission-critical cooling.

We are now looking for a Data Center Engineer / Project Coordinator to join our Global Data Centers team and North America PMO , supporting strategic data center programs and key customer projects.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining technical application work with project coordination , and who wants visibility across global engineering and manufacturing sites (Spain, Italy, Denmark, Mexico and North America).

What You Will Do:

Application Engineering – Global Data Centers

• Analyse data center RFQs and customer specifications
• Select appropriate fan solutions and define operating points, acoustics and efficiency targets
• Review technical proposals, performance data, application reports and drawings
• Provide technical cost-up and pricing inputs to the VP, Global Data Centers
• Support customer design reviews, site visits and factory acceptance tests in the US
• Act as first-line technical support for data center field issues and coordinate root-cause analysis

Project Coordination – North America PMO

• Own the North America project portfolio register , including project owners, stage-gate status and committed dates
• Build and maintain the master prototype schedule ; track prototype on-time delivery and report weekly to the VP
• Translate customer requirements into engineering briefs for our design team in Spain and follow them through design reviews and changes
• Coordinate prototype builds, test campaigns and sign-off with our Italian facility, including test slots and customer shipments
• Coordinate inputs from product management and commercial excellence in Denmark
• Coordinate industrialisation with Monterrey, Mexico (tooling, BOM release, PPAP, production ramp-up)
• Manage outbound deliverables to customers (prototypes, samples, test reports, documentation, production release packages) against committed dates
• Run weekly cross-functional project meetings and stage-gate reviews; track actions to closure and flag slippage early

Pipeline, Intake & Reporting

• Operate the project scoring and intake tool and flag capacity conflicts before commitments are made
• Maintain the global data center pipeline dashboard (load vs. capacity, spec-win status, margin-at-quote)
• Prepare monthly PMO dashboards for senior leadership (VP, President and leadership team)

Global Team Coordination

• Act as day-to-day technical counterpart to data-center-dedicated sales engineers and key account managers in EMEA, APAC and Mexico
• Help standardise data center application tools, selection templates and documentation for global use

What We Are Looking For:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar Engineering discipline
• 2+ years in application, project or NPI engineering within:
• HVACR
• Air-moving equipment
• Motors and drives
• Or a comparable OEM component business
• Experience running a project cadence across multiple sites , ideally cross-country
• Working knowledge of:
• Axial and centrifugal fan performance
• EC/PM/AC motor systems and drives
• AMCA / ISO performance and acoustic test standards
• Strong communication skills, comfortable representing Multi-Wing in customer engineering reviews
• Proficiency in MS Project (or equivalent) , ERP / PLM systems , and basic CAD review

Preferred

• Exposure to data center thermal management customers (OEMs, colos, hyperscalers)
• PMP or equivalent project management certification
• Experience with PPAP / APQP or similar industrialisation processes
• Spanish and/or Italian language skills

• Based at our Middlefield, Ohio office
• 20–30% travel , domestic and international (Spain, Italy, Denmark, Mexico and customer sites)
• Working hours designed to overlap with European time zones for cross-functional coordination
