Data Center Estimation Engineer

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel to project sites as required

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare CAPEX estimates, BOQs/BOMs and cost plans for greenfield and brownfield data center projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings, SLDs, layouts, specifications and equipment schedules.
• Estimate major Electrical, Mechanical, ELV, Civil and Architectural MEP packages.
• Prepare unit-rate analysis covering materials, equipment, installation, testing commissioning, logistics and manpower.
• Review RFQs/RFPs, tender documents and specifications and identify scope gaps, risks and exclusions.
• Coordinate with vendors/OEMs/subcontractors for quotations and prepare technical commercial comparison statements.
• Support vendor negotiations, tender pricing and value-engineering initiatives.
• Understand data center redundancy concepts such as N, N+1, 2N and 2N+1 and their cost impact.
• Develop cost benchmarks such as cost/MW, cost/rack and cost/sq.ft.
• Maintain historical cost databases and market rate benchmarks.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read SLDs, PIDs, layouts and technical specifications.
• Strong BOQ, estimation, and commercial skills.
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of Uptime/Tier, TIA-942, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC/IS standards is preferred.
• Experience with CostX, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Candy, BIM/Revit/Navisworks is an advantage.
