Data Center Facility Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and assign daily work orders to a team of technicians for routine repair, planned preventive maintenance, and emergency response in 24×7 mission-critical data centers.
• Act as project engineer for customer addition/alteration (A&A) works, tenant fit-outs, testing & commissioning, and premises handover.
• Manage contractors, vendors and in-house technicians to ensure compliance with SLAs; monitor contracted projects, vendor performance and fit-out progress.
• Provide technical guidance on E&M/MVAC improvement works and operate/maintain critical systems including UPS, generators, chiller plants, LV switchboards, CRAC units and cooling infrastructure.
• Develop, review and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), emergency/escalation protocols, and change-management processes; train and mentor technicians.
• Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 (or latest versions) and participate in audits; keep accurate asset inventories and documentation.
• Handle procurement approvals, emergency incidents, out-of-hours response, and administrative duties for the facilities team.

Requirements

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–10+ years of E&M / MVAC operation and maintenance experience in 24×7 mission-critical environments; data center or telecom experience highly preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of UPS, generators, chiller plants, LV switchboards, CRAC/CRAH units; chiller plant experience is a strong advantage.
• Proven supervisory, project management and contractor management skills; able to work under pressure and outside normal hours when required.
• Familiar with ISO certification/audit processes; knowledge of BMS, DCIM or Remedy systems is an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Holder of Hong Kong Registered Electrical Worker (REW) certificate is an advantage.
• Candidates with 8–10+ years and extensive chiller/electrical experience may be considered for Senior Facility Engineer level.
