Data Center Floor Manager

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in data center operations.
• Proven experience in technical leadership
• Strong understanding of fiber and CAT6 cabling, patching, and testing tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Excel, and other Microsoft products.
• Experience with ServiceNow for request and change management.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of data center power systems and rack voltage limitations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Data Center Floor Manager to oversee daily operations across multiple data centers. This role is a hybrid between day-to-day floor management and project coordination, supporting both technical execution and some customer interaction. The ideal candidate will have deep data center experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team responsible for data center operations and service installations.
• Oversee rack building, cabling, patching, and physical asset tracking.
• Participate in project pipeline calls and coordinate change requests.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and customers, translating complex concepts into clear communication.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical leads (e.g., Dennis and Scott) to share responsibilities and ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain and update asset databases using tools like Nlyte and ServiceNow .
• Ensure compliance with power and voltage limitations in rack configurations.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.
• Monitor and report on operational efficiency and risk assessment metrics.
