Data Center Operation Manager

About the role

As a Data Center Operations Manager within the Cloud Hardware Support organization, you will lead teams of Data Center Technicians and Field Engineers responsible for on-site support, installations, proactive services, and operational delivery across data center sites in Thailand. You will ensure reliable, secure, and efficient 24x7 operations in mission-critical environments while meeting agreed service levels and delivering an excellent customer experience. This role is a key operational leadership position, serving as a primary escalation point for complex issues and partnering closely with internal teams, customers, vendors, and senior stakeholders. You will also help scale regional operations by identifying improvement opportunities, reducing operational risk, building technical capability, and supporting new data center deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead 24x7 data center operations across assigned sites in Thailand, ensuring safe, reliable, and timely service delivery.
• Manage and develop teams of Data Center Technicians and/or Field Engineers supporting break-fix, installations, proactive maintenance, and operational readiness.
• Oversee new regional deployments, including workforce planning, site readiness, implementation coordination, and transition to steady-state operations.
• Monitor operational performance against service-level commitments; address escalations, recurring issues, and service gaps quickly and effectively.
• Build a high-performing, inclusive team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
• Partner with global operations, engineering, supply chain, security, and customer teams to deliver consistent processes and achieve project milestones.
• Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, documentation, tooling, capacity planning, and team efficiency.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks that may affect availability, safety, compliance, or customer satisfaction.
• Manage vendor performance and local service partners to ensure quality, responsiveness, and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements, company policies, safety standards, and data center operating procedures.

About you

• Proven experience leading large, diverse technical teams in mission-critical IT, cloud infrastructure, or data center environments.
• Extensive experience operating or supporting data centers, ideally within hyperscale, cloud, or high-availability environments.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure operations, hardware support, service delivery, incident management, and operational risk.
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical, operational, and business priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience hiring, developing, mentoring, and retaining managers and technical professionals.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.
• A practical, customer-focused mindset and a record of improving operational performance and team effectiveness.
• Ability to remain calm, decisive, and adaptable during escalations and changing business priorities.
• Experience managing external vendors and working within local regulatory or compliance requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
