Data Center Operations Engineer / Technician

Our client is a rapidly expanding international data center operator supporting some of the world's leading cloud, AI, and digital infrastructure providers. Due to continued business growth, they are seeking motivated engineering professionals to join their operations team in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain critical infrastructure systems including HV/LV switchgear, UPS, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and fire protection systems
• Monitor facility performance through BMS and DCIM platforms to ensure maximum uptime and reliability
• Respond to alarms and incidents, perform troubleshooting, coordinate with vendors, and document maintenance activities
• Carry out preventive maintenance and routine inspections in accordance with operational standards
• Support commissioning, testing, and integration of new equipment and systems
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
• Complete accurate shift handovers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Diploma or above in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or related disciplines
• Minimum 2 years of experience in data centers, critical facilities, infrastructure operations, facilities management, utilities, transportation, or similar environments
• Hands-on knowledge of UPS, generators, electrical distribution, or cooling systems
• Good command of Cantonese and basic English
• Willing to work on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Electrical Worker (REW) Grade B or above
• EMSD-recognized technical or trade qualifications
• Experience with BMS platforms such as Schneider, Vertiv, ABB, or similar systems
