At Amazon, career progression is part of our environment. We want you to progress, so come and work for the world’s most Customer-centric Company.

You will work with the world’s largest computing infrastructure. Your work involves some periods' independence from your team. You will learn the daily operations of a large data center. You will be working and troubleshooting hands on with servers and network equipment.

You will interact with other teams like logistics, networking, security, and etc in order to get the job done. There is never a dull moment as each day presents itself with different challenges. Work with multiple teams (DC operations, DC Engineering, Logistics, Security and Projects etc.)

If successful after the 6 month period you might be interviewed to join the Amazon family full-time. For more info you can visit http://infrastructure.aws.

Some Of The Key Responsibilities You Will Undertake Are

  • You will be trained in supporting data center infrastructure equipment including racks, servers, hardware components, networking devices and cables, following specific instructions and well-defined Standard Operating Porcedures (SOP).
  • You will learn to perform routine operations such as rack installations, server break/fix, hardware component replacements, diagnosing hardware faults, troubleshooting network links and rack decommissioning with guidance and support.
  • You will be trained in using Directed Workflow Instructions for hardware replacements and documenting all work in ticket tracking systems.

You will learn to identify issue severity and work within stated Service Level Agreements (SLA), escalating when work deviates from established processes.

  • We're looking for the right person to train and develop — formal qualifications are helpful but not required. What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your aptitude for technical work.
    • Some exposure to IT hardware, networking, or technical support in any setting — including studies, personal projects, or hobbyist experience.
    • Enthusiasm for technology and a desire to build a career in data center operations or IT infrastructure.
    • Willingness to work in a hands-on technical environment using appropriate tools and equipment, including network testing equipment and electric lifting aids. - Candidates should be able to perform the physical requirements of this role, which may include handling equipment. • Strong communication skills — able to ask questions, listen carefully, and work well as part of a team.
    • A responsible and professional attitude with a commitment to safety, quality, and reliability in delivering a consistent and high-quality customer experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Helpful but not required — full training will be provided in hardware and network troubleshooting, Data Center concepts. Any of the following are a bonus, not a barrier to applying.

    • Previous experience in a customer-facing, operational, or physical technical role.
    • We value diverse career paths including self-taught learning, online courses, bootcamps, apprenticeships, military experience, or transferable skills from other industries.

Candidates development will follow a structured skills framework, with clear milestones and regular check-ins to track your progress. Upon successful completion of the 6-month training programme, high-performing trainees will be considered for a permanent full-time Data Center Operations Technician role within the team.
