Data Center Projects Lead

Are you an infrastructure professional who can design a solution, discuss it with a customer and lead the team responsible for delivering it?

We are looking for a Data Center Projects Lead based in Prague to lead a team of up to 20 specialists working across Prague and Brno. The role combines infrastructure architecture, customer-facing solution design, presales, people leadership and responsibility for project results.

This is not a pure Project Manager or Service Manager role. We need someone who remains close to technology and can discuss and challenge infrastructure architecture, help shape a commercial proposal and stay responsible for the solution through delivery.

The role can be a natural next step for an experienced Solution Architect, Technical Presales Specialist or Infrastructure Team Leader who is ready to take broader responsibility for people, customers and business results.

What will you do?

• Lead and develop a team of up to 20 infrastructure specialists and project professionals across Prague and Brno.
• Bring the Prague and Brno teams closer together, establish clear responsibilities and create effective cooperation between people with different working styles, perspectives and priorities.
• Work directly with customers to understand their needs and turn them into practical infrastructure solutions.
• Design and challenge solutions across compute, storage, virtualization, backup, private cloud, hybrid cloud and hyperscaler platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Work closely with Sales and Presales on solution proposals, technical scope, effort estimates, risks, costs and pricing.
• Take responsibility for projects from the initial solution and proposal through delivery, including budget, margin, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Develop new services around infrastructure modernization, private and hybrid cloud, hyperscalers and AI-ready environments.
• Actively develop cooperation with key technology vendors, distributors and partners and use these relationships to identify new business and technology opportunities.
• Stay close enough to technology to support specialists, challenge proposed designs and make informed decisions.
• Report directly to the Business Unit General Manager.

What are we looking for?

• A hands-on background in IT infrastructure, architecture or technical presales.
• A broad understanding of data center technologies, private and hybrid cloud, and platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• The ability to understand a customer’s needs, help design a suitable solution and contribute to a commercial proposal.
• Previous leadership of technical specialists or project teams and an interest in taking broader responsibility for people.
• A background in a smaller or medium-sized IT company, system integrator, technology vendor or distributor, where you worked closely with customers and were involved in technology, delivery and business results.
• A practical approach to delivery, including awareness of project costs, risks and profitability.
• Knowledge of the Czech infrastructure market and experience working with technology vendors and partners.
• Fluent Czech and professional English.
• The ability to work regularly from our Prague office and travel to Brno when needed.
