Data Center Technician

About the Role
We are looking for a Data Center Operations Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our Portland facility. You will be the hands-on presence in our data center, keeping our infrastructure running reliably.

Responsibilities

• Rack, install, and decommission servers and network equipment
• Manage structured cabling: run, label, test, and organize copper and fiber connections
• Perform network maintenance, including hardware swaps and connectivity troubleshooting
• Provide remote-hands support for off-site engineering teams (reboots, console access, component replacement)
• Respond to on-site emergencies as part of an on-call rotation

Requirements

• Located in the Hillsboro, Portland
• Hands-on experience with server racking, cabling, and basic network troubleshooting preferred
• Familiarity with data center environments (power, cooling, cable management best practices)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in elevated or confined spaces
• Availability for occasional after-hours emergency support (on-call rotation)

Nice to Have

• CompTIA A+/Network+, CCNA, or similar certifications
• Experience with remote infrastructure management tools (IPMI, iDRAC, iLO, or KVM-over-IP)
• Familiarity with monitoring platforms (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar)
• Basic network configuration skills (VLANs, switch/router setup, IP addressing)
• Experience with fiber optic termination and testing
• Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
- On-call stipend for emergency support rotation

• Contract-to-hire opportunity: strong performers will be considered for conversion to a full-time permanent position

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
