Data Center Technology Engineer (Implementation & Support)

I. PURPOSE

• The candidate will be hired as a Technology Engineer for Implementation and Support and shall be based in Metro Manila for Trends HO, Metro Cebu for Trends Cebu, or Metro Davao for Trends Davao.
• The candidate may be required to travel to various parts of the Philippines depending on operational or project requirements.
• The candidate is expected to work from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM based on the company’s regular working hours and may be required to extend beyond regular working hours when necessary.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The candidate is expected to act as a technical advisor for technical issues involving UPS, PACU, and ACU systems.
• The candidate is expected to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment using diagrams.
• The candidate is expected to coordinate and escalate electrical and mechanical equipment issues with the Principal and subcontractors until resolved.
• The candidate is expected to monitor work progress and check the quality of electro-mechanical system installations performed by subcontractors in accordance with Principal standards and applicable codes.
• The candidate is expected to perform installation and positioning of UPS, battery systems, rack systems, and environmental monitoring systems.
• The candidate is expected to perform installation of cable trays, wireways, panel boards, and cable pulling for electrical and/or communication cables.
• The candidate is expected to effectively coordinate technical activities for assigned projects among the TG-DCFI Presales team, Implementation and Support team, subcontractors, Project Manager, Principal, and clients.
• The candidate is expected to implement engineering plans and schedules accordingly.
• The candidate is expected to demonstrate technical expertise and establish credibility with customers.
• The candidate is expected to collaborate and work effectively with the sales resource team and the TG-DCFI team.
• The candidate is expected to attend and participate in meetings and other technical-related events.
• The candidate is expected to prepare As-Built documentation.
• The candidate is expected to prepare incident reports and/or Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports to explain the cause of an issue, the actions taken, and how the issue was resolved.
• The candidate is expected to perform other tasks assigned by the management team.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A.    Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Technology, or any related technical/engineering field.

B.    Minimum Experience/Training

• Must have relevant hands-on experience in mechanical and/or electrical installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, or field implementation works.
• Experience or exposure to data center facilities equipment such as UPS, batteries, PACU/ACU, rack systems, cable trays, panel boards, environmental monitoring systems, or related electro-mechanical systems is an advantage.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and basic engineering drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Must have similar work experience in facilities, electro-mechanical systems, HVAC/PACU/ACU, UPS, batteries, rack systems, cable trays, panel boards, environmental monitoring systems, or related data center facility support works.
• Certifications or training from data center facility equipment manufacturers or related technical training providers shall be considered an advantage.

C.    Competency

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional license is preferred but not required.
• Good coordination and documentation skills.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
• Basic knowledge of local electrical/mechanical standards, safety practices, and installation workmanship requirements.

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

• The candidate must be willing to work in varying site conditions, including demanding work environments, and must be willing to travel to various parts of the Philippines depending on operational or project requirements.
