Data Centre Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Data Centre Accountant to join our collective Team across both our offices in Dartford & Maidstone. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accurate accounting practices, and supporting financial management within our data centre operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in financial services and accounting software to contribute to a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilites

• Manage & lead month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and present shareholder reports, maintaining transparent and effective communication communications with board of Directors.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and other regulatory bodies as required.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor operating expenditure, including electricity, utilities, maintenance, security and facilities management.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, capital expenditure and assets under construction.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for data centre operations and infrastructure projects.
• Review supplier invoices, customer billing, revenue recognition and cost allocations.
• Analyse financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improved efficiency.
• Maintain robust financial controls and support internal and external audits.
• Work with operational teams to understand key cost drivers and improve financial reporting and accountability.

Skills & Experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in financial accounting, management accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of fixed assets, capital expenditure and operational cost management.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience using financial reporting systems (we currently use MS Dynamics).
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
