Overview

Our client is seeking a Data Centre Batch Operator to support daily batch processing operations within a mission-critical IT environment. This role is responsible for the creation, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting of batch jobs to ensure business-critical processes are executed accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will work closely with application support, infrastructure and operations teams to maintain service reliability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, configure and deploy batch jobs based on business and operational requirements using enterprise scheduling tools.
• Monitor batch processing activities, investigate failures and ensure timely resolution of operational incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis and coordinate with relevant support teams to minimise service disruption and downtime.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation, job schedules, incident records and performance reports.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance batch processing efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Batch Operator, Data Centre Operator or similar IT operations role.
• Hands-on experience with batch scheduling tools such as Control-M, Autosys, HCL Workload Scheduler or equivalent platforms.
• Familiarity with mainframe and distributed computing environments and enterprise batch processing operations.
• Basic scripting knowledge in Shell, Python or PowerShell for troubleshooting and automation activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a shift-based environment.
