Data Centre Engineer

We are looking for a dependable and technically inclined professional to support round-the-clock operations within a critical data center environment. This role focuses on infrastructure monitoring, facility coordination, security compliance, and incident escalation to ensure uninterrupted service availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor servers, network devices, and storage infrastructure to ensure stable operations
• Track environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and power consumption
• Ensure cooling systems and supporting facilities remain operational and within acceptable thresholds
• Conduct routine visual inspections to detect irregularities or equipment faults
• Enforce site security procedures including access control and surveillance monitoring
• Coordinate equipment movement, packing, and preparation for installation or decommissioning
• Escort vendors, engineers, and customers within secure areas when required
• Support customer onboarding and offboarding activities
• Escalate incidents according to defined response procedures
• Maintain accurate operational logs, access records, and incident documentation
• Responding to operational queries from internal teams and external stakeholders
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational continuity

Requirements

• NITEC in IT or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems
• Prior experience in data center operations preferred
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server and networking fundamentals
• Working understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within data center facilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
• Able to work independently in a 24x7 rotating shift environment (12-hour shifts)
• Responsible, disciplined, and detail-oriented
