What they need
💡 What's In It For You
· Work at the heart of Malaysia's critical digital infrastructure with a trusted, award-recognised data centre operator
· Build deep expertise across high-voltage, cooling, UPS, and fire protection systems in a live mission-critical environment
· Be part of a responsive, technically strong facilities team with clear operational standards and support
About This Opportunity
AIMS Data Centre is one of Malaysia's leading data centre operators, and this role sits at the core of keeping our facilities running 24/7. As a Data Centre Facilities Engineer (M&E), you'll oversee the day-to-day mechanical and electrical operations of our Kuala Lumpur site — ensuring all critical systems remain reliable, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards. You'll work closely with internal operations teams and external vendors, and be a key point of contact for facilities-related issues and customer requirements. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role suited to an engineer who thrives in structured, high-stakes environments.
What You'll Do
· Manage daily M&E operations including HT/LV systems, gensets, UPS, PDU, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, and fire protection
· Execute and monitor PPM schedules in line with SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs
· Coordinate and supervise vendors for preventive and corrective maintenance
· Handle Job Order ticketing for internal and external stakeholder enquiries
· Conduct safety risk assessments and ensure compliance with work permit procedures
· Prepare and maintain documentation including PPM master planners and service reports
· Attend customer operation meetings and manage escalations for unforeseen facility events
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
· Minimum STPM, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
· At least 3 years of hands-on experience in M&E maintenance within a data centre or mission-critical environment
· Solid knowledge of Data Centre operational risk, emergency response, and maintenance best practices
· Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis for M&E systems
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Intermediate level or above)
· Valid Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) Chargeman Certificate — AO, A1, or A4
· Willing to work on-call (24/7 availability) and travel between KL HQ and Cyberjaya Data Centre as required (On-call – weekend allowances provided)
Nice-to-Have
· Prior exposure to HVAC operations within data centre environments
· Experience interpreting data trends and preparing performance reports
You'll Thrive in This Role If You...
1. You stay calm and focused when managing critical incidents under time pressure
2. You take ownership of tasks and can work independently with minimal supervision
3. You're meticulous by nature — you notice the details others miss and follow through consistently
4. You enjoy building strong working relationships with vendors, customers, and cross-functional teams
Other offers great for you!
