Data Centre IT Engineer (Based JB)

Key Responsibilities

• Support onsite implementation, installation, migration, testing, and commissioning activities for network, server, fiber optic, and infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, customers, and internal teams during project execution.
• Perform onsite troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and issue resolution for infrastructure, network, and cabling-related issues.
• Ensure all installation works are carried out according to project requirements, technical standards, and safety procedures.
• Monitor daily site activities, work progress, and workmanship quality.
• Assist in cable management, rack installation, labeling, hardware replacement, and infrastructure deployment activities.
• Perform fiber patching, cable tracing, cable routing, and cable labeling activities.
• Read and understand P2P (Point-to-Point) cabling schedules, rack layouts, and implementation drawings.
• Support project cutover and maintenance activities during weekends, night shifts, or scheduled maintenance windows when required.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, site reports, installation records, and progress updates.
• Escalate technical or project-related issues to senior engineers or project managers promptly.
• Attend onsite meetings and coordinate technical requirements with customers and partners.
• Ensure tools, materials, spare parts, and equipment are properly managed onsite.
• Follow company SOPs, safety requirements, and customer compliance policies.
• Provide technical support and knowledge transfer to customers upon project completion.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1–3 years of relevant onsite experience will have an advantage.
• Basic understanding of networking, server infrastructure, fiber optic systems, and structured cabling environments.
• Willing to travel and work onsite at customer locations.
• Physically able to work in onsite and data center environments.
• Proficiency in English is required. Chinese and Bahasa Melayu are advantageous.
