Data Centre M&E Installation Project Engineer / Site Engineer

Key Responsibilities

-Coordinate and supervise site installation works for LV/MV electrical systems, distribution boards, transformers, generator sets, and other M&E services.

-Manage day-to-day project execution to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

-Supervise installation, testing, commissioning (T&C), and troubleshooting of electrical and ACMV/HVAC systems.

-Coordinate interface works between electrical, mechanical, and ACMV systems during Testing & Commissioning.

-Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, and method statements before construction.

-Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.

-Monitor site progress, quality, safety, and compliance with Malaysian regulations and workplace safety requirements.

-Prepare inspection requests, testing records, commissioning reports, progress reports, and project handover documentation.

-Identify and resolve technical and site coordination issues promptly.

-Attend site meetings and provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

-Familiar with Testing & Commissioning (T&C), inspection procedures, and project handover documentation.

-Good understanding of M&E installation sequences, drawing coordination, and construction processes.

-Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

-Able to work independently in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or BIM will be an added advantage.

-Able to communicate effectively in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

-Willing to travel within Malaysia for project assignments when required.

-Possession of a valid Chargeman Certificate, CIDB Green Card, or other relevant Malaysian engineering certifications will be an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following experience will have an added advantage:

-Data Centre project experience.

-Experience with M&E Contractors or Main Contractors.

-Electrical, Mechanical, or ACMV installation experience.

-Testing & Commissioning (T&C) experience.

-Experience working with Consultants, Clients, RE, Clerk of Works (COW), or Project Management Consultants (PMC).

-Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

-Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in M&E construction, project engineering, or site coordination.
