BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – DATA CENTRE MEP / PRE-SALES

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – Data Centre MEP / Pre-Sales to drive business development and pre-sales activities for data centre MEP solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with data centre owners, developers, consultants, main contractors and project stakeholders, while providing technical and commercial solutions covering critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the data centre and critical infrastructure sector.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with data centre owners, developers, consultants, EPC contractors, main contractors and MEP contractors.
• Develop a strong project pipeline and monitor upcoming data centre projects from design stage through tender and award.
• Understand customer requirements and identify suitable MEP solutions.
• Conduct client meetings, technical presentations and solution discussions.
• Support commercial negotiations and project conversion.

Pre-Sales / Technical Solution

• Provide technical pre-sales support for data centre MEP solutions.

• Understand and propose solutions covering:

  • Chiller systems
  • Cooling towers
  • Cooling water systems
  • Pumps and heat rejection systems
  • Generators / Gensets
  • UPS and critical power systems
  • BMS / EPMS
  • Other critical MEP infrastructure

• Work closely with engineering, procurement and project teams to develop technical proposals and commercial quotations.

• Prepare solution proposals, technical presentations, cost estimates and tender submissions.

• Evaluate different equipment and system configurations based on capacity, efficiency, reliability, redundancy and project requirements.

• Participate in tender clarification meetings and technical/commercial negotiations.

Market Development

• Monitor data centre development activities, upcoming tenders and market trends.
• Develop relationships with consultants and key decision makers at the early design stage.
• Identify opportunities for long-term partnerships and repeat business.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data centre MEP technologies and market developments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, M&E Engineering, Building Services or related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in business development, pre-sales, technical sales, solution sales or project sales.
• Experience in data centre, critical infrastructure, HVAC, chiller, cooling, power generation or electrical infrastructure is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and data centre infrastructure.
• Candidates from OEMs, MEP contractors, system integrators, equipment manufacturers or engineering companies are encouraged to apply.
• Strong technical presentation and client-facing skills.
• Ability to understand technical specifications and translate customer requirements into commercially viable solutions.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel for project and client meetings.
• Candidates with established relationships with data centre developers, consultants, EPC contractors and MEP contractors will have an advantage.
