Data Centre Shift Lead Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the data centre operations team during assigned shifts.
• Monitor critical data centre infrastructure and ensure high availability and operational reliability.
• Manage incidents, troubleshoot issues and coordinate timely resolution and escalation.
• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance, inspections and equipment checks.
• Coordinate planned maintenance, system changes and emergency activities with relevant teams and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, safety procedures and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports and operational documentation.
• Conduct shift handovers and ensure clear communication between teams.
• Support emergency response, escalation and business continuity activities.
• Mentor and guide engineers/technicians within the shift team.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Centre, Facilities Management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data centre, critical facilities or similar mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading or supervising a shift-based operations team.
• Good understanding of data centre infrastructure including UPS, generators, cooling/HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection and BMS/DCIM.
• Strong incident management, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with data centre operational procedures, maintenance and safety standards.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to work on a 24/7 rotating shift.
