Data Engineer

We are hiring for one of our leading clients for an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain modern cloud-based data platform solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Snowflake, dbt, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, ADLS Gen2, Python, and SQL, along with experience in building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and modern lakehouse architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Azure cloud technologies.
• Build scalable and reliable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from multiple sources.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Design and develop data warehouse solutions using Snowflake.
• Develop data transformation and modelling workflows using dbt.
• Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions.
• Work with ADLS Gen2 for scalable data storage and data processing.
• Implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers following modern lakehouse architecture.
• Develop optimized SQL queries and perform performance tuning.
• Use Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.
• Implement automated data quality checks, validation, and pipeline testing.
• Design and maintain data models and schemas for reporting and analytics.
• Follow data governance, security, metadata management, and data quality practices.
• Collaborate with BI, analytics, and business teams to understand data requirements.
• Work effectively with remote/offshore engineering teams and provide technical guidance when required.
• Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.

Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years of relevant Data Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with dbt.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Dataflows.
• Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2).
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Advanced SQL.
• Strong experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development.
• Experience in Data Modelling and Schema Design.
• Experience with Data Quality and Validation frameworks.
• Good knowledge of Git / Version Control.
• Understanding of CI/CD fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of modern cloud data engineering architecture.

Good to Have

• Exposure to GCP.
• Familiarity with AI/ML platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance and metadata management.
• Experience with Power BI or other BI/reporting tools.
• Experience working with distributed/offshore teams.

Candidate Profile

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to independently develop, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable working in a US shift 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM IST.
• Immediate joiners are preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
