Location: India (90% Remote)

SmasHR Global is looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Data & BI Consultant .This role focuses on ETL development, data modeling, and reporting solutions, with exposure to modern data platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Power BI being a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and improve database performance
• Work on data modeling and cube design using SSAS
• Build and manage reports using SSRS and/or Power BI
• Handle large datasets, data transformation, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing BI solutions
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reporting efficiency

Required Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering / BI / MSBI

• Strong hands-on experience in:

• SQL (Advanced level mandatory)

• SSIS (ETL Development – mandatory)

• SSAS / SSRS (at least one mandatory; both preferred)

• Strong understanding of Data Warehousing & Data Modeling

• Experience in end-to-end BI/Data projects

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to Power BI (Dashboards, DAX, Visualization)
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Highly desirable)
• Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics
• Basic knowledge of Apache Spark
