Data Engineer

ABOUT THE JOB

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models using Databricks and cloud-based data platforms
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources into data lakes and data warehouses
• Develop data solutions using Databricks, including Delta Lake, Spark, and SQL, to support analytics and reporting requirements
• Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Architects, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
• Design and implement data models, analytical datasets, and data marts to support business reporting and analytics
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and data transformation logic to ensure data accuracy, performance, and scalability
• Implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring processes to ensure the reliability and consistency of data
• Troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines and Databricks workloads in development and production environments
• Follow data engineering best practices, including version control, CI/CD, documentation, and code quality standards
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data architecture, pipeline performance, and engineering processes

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT development, or a similar role
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark in data engineering projects
• Strong experience with SQL and data transformation; experience working with large datasets is required
• Good proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development
• Experience with Delta Lake and lakehouse architecture is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines in a production environment
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts, data warehouse/data lake architecture, and analytical data structures
• Experience with Git and CI/CD practices for data engineering is a plus
• Experience with Databricks workflows/jobs, performance optimization, and data quality frameworks is a plus
• You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability
