About the Role:

My client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their buy-side firm in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing real-time and critical data pipelines that support high-stakes trading and investment decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain real-time data pipelines and streaming infrastructure
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and low latency in critical financial systems
• Collaborate with quant teams, data scientists, and engineers to deliver timely data solutions
• Optimize data workflows and troubleshoot production issues
• Implement scalable ETL processes and data integration from multiple sources

Requirements:

• Proven experience with real-time data processing and critical/data-sensitive systems
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages
• Familiarity with big data technologies and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Spark)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
