Data Engineer

We are currently seeking a professional specialized in Data Engineering to build and manage robust data pipelines that guarantee the quality, availability, and performance of critical information for smart city operations.

Education

• University degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics, or closely related academic fields.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 3 years of verifiable experience in data engineering, data modeling, and pipeline development.
• Proven experience in designing and developing efficient data pipelines (ETL/ELT) utilizing Python or Java to extract, transform, and load information from diverse urban sources.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for executing complex queries, data transformations, and database performance analysis.
• Demonstrated capability in designing and implementing data models tailored to various needs, including relational, time-series, and event-driven architectures.
• Solid technical expertise in PostgreSQL, including data modeling, indexing, and partitioning.
• Experience developing solutions that integrate both batch and real-time (streaming) data processing concepts.
• Strong ability to ensure data quality through rigorous validation, deduplication, and the handling of late or missing information.
• Speaking and Writing in English: BETWEEN B2 - C2 level IS A MUST
• Consolidated corporate competencies in detail orientation, complex problem-solving, teamwork, and a strong focus on results.

Desirable Requirements

• Practical knowledge in utilizing Apache Flink (DataStream, SQL APIs, state, and event time).
• Experience in integrating architectures with FIWARE / Orion-LD and NGSI-LD standards.
• Deep understanding of time-series database management and data quality metrics.
• Experience with data visualization platforms such as Apache Superset and designing KPIs applied to city services.
• Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies and spatial data management, such as PostGIS, GeoServer, or Esri/ArcGIS.
