Data Engineer

We’re looking for a Data Engineer / ETL & BI Consultant (m/f) to join our client in Luxembourg.

Location: Luxembourg

Mode: On-site with teleworking flexibility after the first 1-3 months.

Contract: CDI (open for permanent employees and/or freelancers)

Language requirement: Fluent English. French and German are beneficial.

Salary: To be discussed.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in SQL and relational databases, including SQL Server, Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with ETL/ELT development , particularly SSIS or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with Python for data processing, automation and integration.
• Knowledge of Power BI and/or SSRS for reporting and data visualisation.
• Experience in database design, data modelling and performance optimisation.
• Understanding of data quality, governance and security principles.
• Familiarity with Jira and Agile working environments is an advantage.
• Exposure to AI-based data solutions is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
• Previous experience in banking, insurance or financial services is an advantage.
• Languages: French and/or English.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Develop and automate data ingestion, transformation and processing workflows.
• Design, create and optimise database structures and data models.
• Develop and maintain reporting solutions and dashboards.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, architects, Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, reliability and security.
• Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot incidents and optimise performance.
• Automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to data governance, documentation and technical improvements.
• Explore opportunities to integrate AI-driven solutions into data processing and automation.
• Coordinate activities and provide regular project progress updates.
