Data Engineer - Contractual

Job Overview

We are looking for a Data Engineer to help develop and maintain reliable data solutions that support business and reporting requirements. The role will focus on building data workflows, organizing and processing information, improving data accessibility, and supporting analytics and operational needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with different teams to understand data requirements, improve processes, and deliver efficient and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related role.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with Java is an advantage.
• Experience working with data processing tools such as Pandas, Dplyr, or Apache Spark.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Background in big data technologies such as MongoDB, Spark, Hive, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud-based data environments.

Technical Knowledge

• Data processing and transformation using Pandas, Dplyr, and Spark.
• Familiarity with Apache Spark and Hadoop.
• Experience with data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or similar technologies.
• Working knowledge of AWS Glue and AWS Lake Formation.
• Familiarity with BI and reporting platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, or Google Data Studio.
• Exposure to visualization tools and libraries such as Plotly, Matplotlib, Dash, ggplot, or Folium.
• Basic knowledge of machine learning tools such as scikit-learn, caret, or MATLAB is an advantage.
• Understanding of data quality, governance, security, and best practices.

Contract Details

• 3–6 month contractual engagement
• Possible extension or future opportunities may be available depending on business requirements and performance.
• Open to candidates who are comfortable with a contractual arrangement.
