Data Engineer - Data Source Enablement

Support the Clinical OMOP squad in onboarding new clinical data sources into the Clinical Analytics Enablement Layer (CAEL). At least 7 new data sources are targeted for enablement in Q4, each requiring ingestion, validation, transformation, and mapping of source clinical data from the Clinical Data Repository (CDR) into standardized, analytics-ready OMOP tables.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build source-to-OMOP mappings, translating source clinical content into the appropriate OMOP domains and tables
• Develop and update pipeline transformations (SQL/Airflow DAGs) to ingest, transform, and load new source data into Clinical OMOP
• Validate patient identity resolution, ensuring new source records correctly integrate with existing OMOP person-matching processes
• Validate terminology mappings and standardized vocabulary/concept assignment for newly onboarded source data
• Perform end-to-end validation in test environments and support production deployment and post-release monitoring
• Represent newly onboarded sources in reconciliation and observability processes
• Update documentation and data dictionaries, and communicate new source availability to downstream Clinical OMOP consumers
• Work across multiple concurrent source-enablement workstreams to meet Q4 delivery targets

Required Skills:

• Strong SQL skills, with hands-on BigQuery experience
• Experience with pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) for data ingestion and transformation development
• Familiarity with the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM), clinical terminology/vocabulary standards, and patient matching concepts
• Experience validating data quality (completeness, conformance, plausibility) for newly onboarded data sources
• Experience in a GCP data analytics environment
• Ability to work independently across multiple concurrent data source enablement efforts in an agile/sprint-based delivery model
