Data Engineer (Databricks)

About the Role

Cegeka is modernizing its data platform by migrating from a legacy SQL Server-based environment to Databricks. We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer who can maintain and improve existing data solutions while helping migrate them to a modern cloud platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, working with both legacy and modern technologies, and contributing to large-scale data transformation initiatives. Experience with SQL Server and Databricks is key.

What you will do:

• Update SQL stored procedures, jobs, and SSIS packages based on changing business requirements
• Optimize ingestion and transformation jobs to improve performance, reliability, and data quality
• Investigate failed jobs, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
• Support analysts and collaborate with architects on observability, quality, and performance improvements
• Resolve incidents and document changes that strengthen platform stability
• Build deep knowledge of your team’s data domain and prepare workloads for migration
• Rebuild SQL Server and SSIS workloads on Databricks
• Support ingestion, transformation, orchestration, testing, validation, deployment, and production transition
• Apply modern engineering standards across both the legacy environment and the future cloud platform

What we are looking for:

• Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
• Experience with Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts
• Experience with data modelling and query optimization
• Ability to troubleshoot and improve complex legacy systems
• Experience migrating data workloads between platforms
• Understanding of data quality, performance tuning, and operational support
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent in English
