About the Role - Fully Remote / Full time

We are looking for a  Data Engineer / Full-Stack Developer  to maintain and expand our existing database and data-ingestion infrastructure.

Your goal will be to help us discover, process and consolidate large quantities of valuable data into a central database that powers our AI applications and subsidiaries.

This is not just a maintenance role. We want someone who is excited to explore new ideas, find unconventional data sources and build the infrastructure required to make complex information accessible to intelligent systems.

You might work with data from areas such as:

• Computational biology and life sciences

• Frontier physics and scientific research

• Finance and capital markets

• Technology, companies and global industries

• Other emerging or highly specialized fields

What You'll Do

• Maintain, improve and scale our existing databases and data-ingestion pipelines

• Identify interesting, useful and difficult-to-access data sources

• Build reliable pipelines for collecting, cleaning, transforming and enriching structured and unstructured data

• Design data models and storage systems that make information easy to access, search and navigate

• Integrate APIs, public datasets, documents, feeds and other external sources

• Improve data quality through validation, normalization, deduplication and monitoring

• Develop internal tools and interfaces for managing and exploring data

• Help make large datasets usable by AI models, applications and internal teams

• Evaluate technical trade-offs and contribute your own ideas to our data strategy

• Take ownership of projects from initial research to production deployment

Who We're Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you:

• Enjoy working with large, complex or imperfect datasets

• Can approach open-ended technical problems independently

• Communicate clearly in a remote working environment

• Have an entrepreneurial mindset and take ownership of your work

Technical Knowledge Required

• Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, and Redis

• PostgreSQL and database design

• Experience working with APIs, data processing and web applications

• Data scraping and automated data collection

• Cloud infrastructure and containerization

• Vector databases, search systems or knowledge graphs

• AI and machine-learning data infrastructure

• Experience with scientific, financial or alternative datasets

• Building dashboards or internal data-management tools
