Data Engineer (GCP / BigQuery / dbt / Python)

Responsibilities :

• Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
• Develop and maintain Data Warehouse & Lakehouse solutions to support analytics and business needs.
• Build data models and transformation workflows using SQL, Python, Dataform SQLX, and dbt.
• Work with diverse data sources including databases, APIs, event streams, and file-based data.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance across the data platform.
• Manage cloud-based data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and automate workflows using Terraform.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Teams, and Data Analysts to deliver impactful data solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve data pipelines and platform performance.
• Apply Git, automated testing, and CI/CD (DataOps) practices to improve development and deployment.
• Explore emerging technologies such as MCP and Agentic AI to enable intelligent data workflows.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation workflows.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly data-related services such as BigQuery.
• Good understanding of Data Warehouse, Data Lake/Lakehouse, and dimensional modeling concepts.
• Experience with or familiarity in Apache Iceberg, Dataform SQLX, or dbt is a plus.
• Experience with Terraform, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD is a plus.
• Comfortable working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Curious and passionate about modern data technologies, AI, and automation.
