Data Engineer Level 4

Location: Charlotte, NC Duration: Long-Term Contract Experience: 5+ Years Job Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer / Database Engineer to support complex, large-scale enterprise data and database engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, ETL/ELT, data modeling, performance optimization, and enterprise data platforms .

This role will work closely with application development, architecture, analytics, infrastructure, and business teams to design, implement, optimize, and support scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult on complex and large-scale database and data engineering initiatives with significant business impact.
• Design, develop, implement, and support enterprise-grade database solutions.
• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration frameworks.
• Analyze and resolve complex database and data engineering issues.
• Perform database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and troubleshooting.
• Design and maintain logical and physical data models supporting business and analytical requirements.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, security, governance, and compliance across enterprise data platforms.
• Collaborate with application developers, architects, data analysts, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
• Support both cloud and on-premises database environments.
• Participate in database migration, modernization, automation, and transformation initiatives.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, technical planning, and enterprise data engineering best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and consultation to project teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure solutions comply with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Work effectively within Agile development environments.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong experience with one or more relational databases:

• Oracle

• SQL Server

• PostgreSQL

• MySQL

• Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.

• Hands-on experience with data modeling and database design.

• Experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
