Data Engineer, People Analytics

About the Team

Zooms People Analytics team sits within the IT organization and partners across the People Experience (PX) function to deliver data-driven insights on workforce trends, talent acquisition, and organizational health. The team combines deep technical expertise with a genuine commitment to using data to drive meaningful outcomes for Zooms global workforce.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust ETL pipelines to integrate data from multiple HR systems and sources
• Develop optimized data models and schemas that support analytics and reporting requirements
• Build and maintain scalable data infrastructure to enable people analytics initiatives
• Manage Airflow workflows for pipeline orchestration and dbt models for data transformation
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting
• Implement comprehensive data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Partner with analysts to transform raw data into actionable insights for business stakeholders

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with both Airflow for pipeline orchestration and dbt for data transformation
• Strong expertise in AWS data services and cloud infrastructure
• Proven track record of translating complex business requirements into scalable, production-grade data solutions
• Experience with HR data and people analytics metrics; familiarity with Workday, data visualization tools (such as Tableau or Power BI), or machine learning concepts is a plus
