Data Engineer - Remote

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to build, maintain, and optimize a scalable, open-source data platform. The role focuses on data lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and batch data processing using technologies such as Amazon S3, Apache Iceberg, ClickHouse, and Apache Spark.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable data platforms integrating multiple data sources.
• Build, monitor, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and batch-processing workflows.
• Improve data infrastructure performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Support data orchestration, governance, quality, security, and business intelligence.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and backend engineers to deliver effective data solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Scala/Java.
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, Apache Spark, and large-scale batch processing.
• Familiarity with data lakehouse architecture, Amazon S3, Apache Iceberg, ClickHouse, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS, and microservices architecture.
• Good English communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with open-source data platforms and BI tools such as Superset, Looker, Tableau, or Metabase.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with AWS EMR and AI-assisted development tools.

Work Setup

• Work Arrangement: Fully remote

• Rate: $15–$16 per hour

Note: This role focuses on batch data processing rather than real-time streaming.

Pay: Php900.00 - Php1,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
