Data Engineer

Context

Collective.work is building an AI agent that automates recruiting workflows—from sourcing and screening to outreach and coordination. The company’s mission is to shift repetitive recruiting work from humans to software, enabling faster, higher-quality hiring. Collective.work operates at the intersection of:

• Workflow automation

Missions

• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines (ingestion → transformation → serving)
• Integrate multiple data sources (CRM, product events, external datasets)
• Structure and optimize data for AI/ML use cases (matching, ranking, automation)
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and scalability
• Build and maintain data models for analytics and product features
• Collaborate with product and ML teams to support new capabilities
• Improve data infrastructure performance and cost efficiency

Tools & Environment

• SQL and data modeling
• Python or similar programming languages
• Modern data stacks such as Airflow, dbt, BigQuery or equivalents
• Data pipelines and distributed systems
• AI/ML systems and data-driven product environments

Working Conditions

• Location: Brussels (hybrid: remote + in-person)
• Compensation: Competitive salary + equity
• Start: ASAP

1. 3–6 years experience in data engineering or backend/data roles
2. Strong SQL and experience with data modeling
3. Experience with Python or similar languages
4. Familiarity with modern data stacks (e.g. Airflow, dbt, BigQuery or equivalent)
5. Understanding of data pipelines and distributed systems
6. Interest in AI/ML systems and data-driven products
7. Based in or near Brussels, open to hybrid work
8. Bonus: Experience with real-time data processing
9. Bonus: Exposure to machine learning pipelines
10. Bonus: Familiarity with product analytics or event tracking
11. Bonus: Experience in SaaS or HR tech environments
