Data Engineering Lead

For our client, we are seeking a Data Engineering Lead to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.

This role will provide technical leadership for modern data engineering practices that support analytics and decision-making across the organization. You will help define standards for data models, pipeline reliability, and engineering quality while partnering closely with delivery teams to improve consistency and scalability. The position is highly hands-on and focused on building cloud-based data solutions that turn raw data into trusted, analytics-ready assets.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $122,300 – $165,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for data engineering standards and practices
• Review designs and enforce coding standards across teams
• Own engineering best practices for model design, CI/CD, and testing
• Lead creation of analytics-ready data models using dbt
• Build and manage cloud-native data pipelines on AWS
• Establish reusable engineering patterns for efficiency
• Coach and develop engineering teams through knowledge transfer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred
• 8–10 years of experience with enterprise-grade data platforms and pipelines
• 3+ years of technical leadership in data engineering delivery
• Hands-on experience with dbt for production transformation frameworks
• Strong AWS experience, including S3, Redshift, and Glue
• Familiarity with data quality practices and automated testing
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, including orchestration tools like Airflow
