What they need

The role

We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Data Entry and Project Support Administrator to join the Information Services team within the Regional Services & Information Group as part of Horizons' Digital Transformation Programme.

This is a 24-month fixed-term position based in Palmerston North.

This role has been established to support the implementation of IRIS NextGen, a major programme of work that will introduce new system capability and improve how information is managed across Council. You will play an important role in helping prepare data, support testing, develop training resources and assist project teams throughout the implementation process.

While data entry is an important part of the role, this position offers much more variety. You'll work closely with project teams, business users and subject matter experts to help ensure information is accurate, training materials are fit for purpose, testing activities are well coordinated, and projects have the administrative support needed to succeed.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, is naturally organised, enjoys supporting others and wants to be involved in meaningful organisational change.

About you

You are someone who enjoys keeping things organised, accurate and running smoothly. You take pride in producing quality work, have strong attention to detail and enjoy supporting projects that make a real difference.

You are comfortable working with data and systems, but you also enjoy working with people. Whether you're helping prepare training material, supporting testing activities, maintaining records or producing reports, you bring a positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Experience in administration, project support, data entry or data management.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a project team.
  • A customer-focused approach with a willingness to support others and solve problems.

It would be an advantage if you have:

  • Experience supporting projects, testing activities or system implementations.
  • Experience creating user guides, documentation or training resources.
  • Experience working with reporting tools such as Excel or Power BI.
  • Experience working with compliance, regulatory or information management processes.

Why join us?

When you join us, you can look forward to a rewarding career full of opportunities to develop a positive and supportive work environment. We do this through:

  • Positive focus on employee health, wellness and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.
  • Flexible family friendly work environment.
  • Ongoing development and opportunities across the organisation to grow, specialise or diversify your skills.
  • Working together for a better environment across our region.
  • A supportive and social work environment across the organisation.
