Data Entry Clerk/Administrative Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and supporting store operations. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and a passion for helping customers find the products they need. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, but not required. The position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your sales and customer service skills while contributing to a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries and recommendations
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items
• Upsell products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and ensuring products are well-stocked
• Handle stock replenishment and inventory management through stocking duties
• Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed during transactions
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
• Supervise or assist in supervising team members when applicable, including overseeing daily store operations
• Support in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment

Experience

• Prior retail sales experience is preferred, especially in grocery or similar retail environments
• Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is essential
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly valued
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy are required
• Proven ability to upsell products and perform product demonstrations effectively
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and inventory management is beneficial
• Previous experience in grocery stores or retail sales positions will be considered an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
