About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing fintech company that builds a data-driven investment research and analytics platform for retail investors. They are hiring a Data Entry Executive for their Mumbai team.

Role Overview

We need a fast, accurate Data Entry Executive with strong Advanced Excel skills. You will handle large datasets, clean and organise data from several sources, find and fix errors, and prepare MIS reports for the business and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter, update and maintain large volumes of data across spreadsheets, systems and databases with high speed and accuracy.
• Pull data from reports, portals, emails, PDFs and third-party platforms into structured Excel or Google Sheets files.
• Use Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, nested IFs, pivot tables, Power Query) to clean, process and analyse data.
• Find and fix duplicates, missing entries, inconsistencies and formatting errors.
• Build and maintain templates and trackers for recurring data tasks.
• Check the system every day for errors flagged by automated checks, separate real issues from noise, and prioritise them by business impact.
• Find where each data issue started (vendor, data ingestion, transformation logic or scoring engine), then raise corrections and follow them up with vendors until they are closed.
• Write root cause analysis (RCA) reports for serious incidents, each with a clear fix such as a new check, a changed threshold or an automation.
• Suggest improvements to data checks and thresholds based on what they catch in practice.
• Send a daily status update, a weekly performance review and periodic MIS and vendor reports.
• Work with internal teams to collect data on time and flag delays or mismatches straight away.
• Keep digital files organised with proper version control, and handle confidential data with full discretion.

Requirements

• 2+ years in data entry, data management, MIS or an operations executive role.
• Strong Advanced Excel skills: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation and basic macros.
• Experience working with large datasets.
• Comfortable in both Excel and Google Sheets.
• Fast, accurate typing with a sharp eye for detail.
• Experience preparing MIS reports, trackers or dashboard inputs.
• Able to work on your own, manage several priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Good to have: Power Query, and exposure to fintech, stock markets or a subscription-based digital platform.
