Data Entry/Customer Service

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Accurately enter patient demographics, test orders, insurance details, and ICD-10 codes into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Verify requisition forms for completeness and follow up on missing or unclear information.
• Maintain accurate records of samples, accession numbers, and billing-related documentation.
• Answer calls and emails from providers, nursing homes, and patients in a professional and timely manner.
• Provide clients with information on test availability, turnaround times, pricing (self-pay), and insurance coverage.
• Assist with LIS login support, requisition form usage, and other account-related questions.
• Coordinate courier pickups, deliveries, and sample tracking.
• Document all client and patient interactions in tracking logs for follow-up and accountability.
• Escalate technical, billing, or clinical issues to the appropriate department when necessary.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality in all communications and data handling.
• Support laboratory staff with administrative tasks, reporting, and special projects as assigned.
• Maintain a customer-focused attitude to ensure a positive experience for all clients and patients.

Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour
