DATA ENTRY/Sample Receiving Technician/Custodian Job Description

• Environmental Testing Laboratory
• Sample Custodian is the first point of contact for all client relations. The Sample Custodian is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sample acceptance and custody.
• First point of contact
• Answers all directed calls
• Answers all directed emails ([email protected])
• Answers all website inquiries
• Accepts all client samples with adherence to Sample Receiving, Log In and Storage SOP
• Ensures all samples are received and conforms to required conditions stated on COC
• Ensures all samples are received intact and at proper temperature
• Distributes samples to departments as appropriate
• Ensures all sample storage areas are in proper working order and temperature
• Ensures all documentation is obtained
• Data entry of all sample information is entered completely and accurately into LIMS
• Oversees COC review process
• Corrects any and all errors
• Contacts clients with any irregularities in sample acceptance and negotiates and documents all solutions
• Notifies laboratory of any special samples and projects
• Notifies laboratory of all short hold time samples
• Assists and oversees all sample disposal with adherence to Sample Handling and Disposal SOP
• Follows strict safety and quality control procedures
• Stocking and restocking of samples and consumables inventory
• Ensures work area is clean, organized and presentable

Qualifications

• Computer Skills-Microsoft Office/Excel/Laboratory Database
• High school diploma or GED is required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Eligible to work in the Unites States
• Ability to work until final samples are received for the day (6:00 pm)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
