So you can work with a great team, feel great for making a real difference for everyday Australians and have a rewarding career.

Grow your career with a global retailer as a Data Governance Analyst within our National Data Analytics (NDA) department of ALDI stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time position.

The National Data Analytics Office is responsible for establishing and enabling enterprise-wide data management, data quality, and AI governance practices that support trusted decision-making and sustainable business outcomes. The team provides expert guidance on complex data and governance challenges, connecting business processes, data, architecture, and technology to identify risks, improve data quality, and ensure governance is embedded within data platforms, products, and strategic initiatives. Through the development of scalable governance frameworks and standards, the office helps drive consistency, compliance, and the effective use of data across the organisation.

What does the role look like?

  • Analyse complex or systemic data management problems spanning business processes, source systems, Databricks and downstream data consumption and recommend appropriate governance responses.
  • Design scalable data quality and governance approaches, including critical data, control points, monitoring, ownership, issue management and remediation.
  • Define governance expectations for significant data acquisition and transformation patterns and influence how controls are incorporated into Databricks pipelines and data products.
  • Establish approaches for improving enterprise metadata, business definitions, lineage, ownership and discoverability using Databricks and Unity Catalog.
  • Apply DAMA-DMBOK disciplines to shape NDO standards, governance approaches and solutions for complex business and technology initiatives.
  • Provide governance challenge and subject matter expertise to Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Product Owners and senior business stakeholders.
  • Shape NDO responses to emerging areas including AI governance, data protection, complex DPIAs and international data management initiatives.

And the best part? Every single day at ALDI, you'll know you're making a difference, supporting our mission to help everyday Australians live richer lives for less.

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrated ability to develop governance solutions for complex problems and influence senior business and technical stakeholders.

  • Significant experience applying data management and governance expertise to complex business and technology environments.

  • Advanced analytical and SQL capability together with strong knowledge of Databricks or comparable modern data platforms.

  • Broad and practical knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK disciplines and their application across the data lifecycle.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture, ingestion, transformation, data quality, metadata, lineage and Unity Catalog or comparable governance capabilities.

  • Enjoy 5 weeks annual leave for pursuing your passions outside of work.

  • Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work options.

  • Support during life’s most important moments including paid parental leave, including superannuation on parental leave.

  • Complimentary access to free physiotherapy to treat non-work related aches, pains or niggles.

  • Work with a company who has been recognised as an Employer of Choice every year since 2018 - 2024.

  • Boost your wellbeing with the MyALDI wellbeing program with discounted access to Fitness Passport and health insurance.

Remuneration

  • Transparent tiered salary range of $143,400 - $163,500 including Superannuation.
