Data Management Office Specialist

Job Purpose

The job holder is responsible for developing, implementing, and governance of WTCO's data management strategy. Ensure compliance with national and international data standards, safeguard sensitive information, promote open data initiatives, and enhance organizational capabilities in data governance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensuring work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, practices, cost ‎optimization, and productivity & efficiency improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards within WTCO and related functions such as but not limited to (HC, HSSE, Risk, Cybersecurity, etc..).
• Escalate problems to ensure case/issue is closed efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Develop and implement WTCO’s data management strategy in alignment with the organization’s objectives and national standards, ensuring a comprehensive governance framework.
• Monitoring the entire data lifecycle, from creation and storage to processing and disposal, ensuring that data is managed effectively and supports organizational operations and decision-making.
• Ensure establishing and enforcing data classification systems to protect sensitive data and ensure secure sharing of data within the organization and with external entities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities 2

• Ensure protect personal data in compliance with applicable data protection regulations, ensuring that personal data is securely collected, stored, and used across the organization.
• Ensure WTCO’s compliance with national and international data regulations, standards, and policies, working closely with the National Data Management Office.
• Ensure alignment of WTCO’s data management practices with the National Data Management Office by actively collaborating on strategy, policy development, and compliance.
• Monitor WTCO’s open data initiatives and handle public information access requests in compliance with approved laws and policies.
• Enhance the maturity and capabilities of the Data Management Office to ensure continuous improvement in data governance and management.
• Regularly report on the efficiency and compliance of data management activities, ensuring transparency and recommending improvements for optimal performance.
• Participate in the data mgmt. and personal data protection periodic meetings that are scheduled by the National Data Management Office.
