Data Manager

Data Manager | Manchester (Hybrid) | 6-Month Contract (Inside IR35)

We are looking for a hands-on Data Manager to join a fast-paced data governance team and lead data quality, profiling, and metadata initiatives within the consumer/travel space.

In this role, you will bridge technical execution and business strategy—implementing automated Data Quality checks, conducting data profiling, and optimizing data governance frameworks alongside Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Quality Automation: Proactively design and implement automated DQ checks, data profiling, and root-cause analysis using SQL and Python.
• Data Governance & Lifecycle: Oversee metadata management, maintain data dictionaries and business glossaries, and document end-to-end data lineage.
• Architecture & Standards: Support decision-making around Data Warehouses vs. Data Lakes, ETL workflows, data modeling, and MDM standards.
• Stakeholder & Business Alignment: Quantify data issues, present impact assessments to senior leadership, and ensure regulatory/audit compliance.

Key Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Profiling, or Data Quality management.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with SQL, Python , and BI/visualization tools ( Tableau or Power BI ).
• Deep understanding of Data Lakes vs. Data Warehouses , data workflows, ETL, and data lineage tools (e.g., Collibra).
• Experience working in an Agile environment with strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
