Data Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Data Platform & Production Support Engineer to oversee, optimize, and support our enterprise data ecosystem. This hybrid role combines system administration, Identity and Access Management (IAM), data pipeline oversight, and advanced tier-2/3 support to guarantee the security, performance, and reliability of our data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform & Security Administration: Manage user provisioning, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and OKTA integrations across core data platforms. Lead quarterly User Access Reviews (UAR) and manage OAuth token rotations.
• Tableau & BI Support: Act as the primary administrator for Tableau Online. Monitor site performance, ensure scheduled data extracts run successfully, deploy dashboards, and troubleshoot user visualization issues.
• Data Pipelines (Fivetran, dbt, AWS EC2): Monitor Fivetran connectors, track dbt job execution, and maintain background scripts/cron jobs on AWS EC2 instances. Conduct end-to-end pipeline validations.
• Snowflake & Cost Optimization: Monitor virtual warehouse compute performance and storage. Utilize FinOps features to identify resource-heavy queries, right-size compute instances, and drive cost efficiency.
• Application & Tool Support: Provide technical support and IAM administration for specialized business applications (Wisdom AI, Syndigo, Revifi).
• Operations & Incident Management: Triage and resolve support tickets via JIRA and Salesforce. Manage database lifecycles and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 6+ years of experience administering SaaS and cloud data environments.
• Platform Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Online, Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, and AWS EC2.
• Security & IAM: Deep knowledge of OKTA, RBAC methodologies, IP allowlisting, and user access compliance.
• Scripting & SQL: Advanced SQL proficiency for query optimization and troubleshooting. Capable of managing automated Bash/Python scripts in Linux environments.
• Data Architecture: Strong grasp of modern ELT/ETL pipelines, data synchronization, and data observability.
• Agile Tools: Familiarity with JIRA, Salesforce ticketing, Git version control, and Change Advisory Board (CAB) standards. Familiarity with AI-assisted data tools (e.g., Altimate AI) is a plus.
