Data Platform Engineer with Terraform and AWS - Remote

Fully remote as contractor - This is contract role with 12 Months duration (12 months to start likely to extend or be ongoing)

Work time zone Mostly IST hours but you need to have some small overlap a day or two a week to attend a stand up meeting. Let me know what questions you have.

It would be standard Monday-Friday IST hours, apart from team standup calls that may be go a little later in the evening in IST. This is something that can flexible and we can get the team’s input on

Data Platform / Platform Engineer

We are looking for an offshore platform engineer to support the design, build, automation, and ongoing enhancement of the CG data platform, with primary focus on Astronomer Astro (Airflow), Databricks, AWS infrastructure, and platform automation.

Candidates should have decent depth in at least any one of the key areas (databricks, airflow, python or AWS and Terraform)

Required skills / experience

Strong experience with Python for platform engineering, automation, and integration work

Handson experience with Apache Airflow / Astronomer Astro, including DAG development, deployments, environment configuration, and operational support

Experience with Databricks administration and integration, including workspace setup, jobs, clusters, notebooks, Unity Catalog, and platform connectivity patterns

Solid understanding of AWS services, especially IAM, EKS, S3, Secrets Manager, Lambda, CloudWatch, networking, and accountlevel integrations

Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, for provisioning and managing cloud and platform resources

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools such as Harness, or similar

Experience building and supporting selfservice platform capabilities or reusable platform patterns for application/data teams

Good understanding of cloud security, IAM roles/policies, secret management, and enterprise governance controls

Experience integrating platforms across multiple AWS accounts and enterprise environments

Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, platform, deployment, and applicationintegration layers

Ability to work with REST APIs, SDKs, and automation frameworks to enable platform workflows

Familiarity with Gitbased development practices, code reviews, branching strategies, and release management

Ability to create technical documentation, runbooks, and reusable implementation patterns

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with onshore architects, client stakeholders, and engineering teams
