Duties

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and architects to develop robust data pipelines, warehouses, and analytics platforms.
• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data models, including dimensional modeling and data warehousing strategies.
• Manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes utilizing tools like Informatica, Apache Hive, Spark, and SQL-based systems to ensure efficient data flow.
• Architect and optimize cloud-based data solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure Data Lake, and other public cloud environments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their analytics needs and translate them into technical specifications for data models and pipelines.
• Develop and enforce best practices for data management, security, compliance, and governance across all systems.
• Drive continuous improvement through agile methodologies, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data products.
• Implement RESTful APIs for seamless integration between various data services and applications.
• Support model training and analysis efforts by providing reliable access to clean, well-structured datasets.

Skills

• Extensive experience with cloud databases such as AWS, Azure Data Lake, and other public cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Java, Python, Bash (Unix shell), and Shell Scripting for automation and pipeline development.
• Deep understanding of big data systems like Hadoop, Spark, Apache Hive, and related ecosystems.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and SQL-based data warehouses.
• Expertise in designing scalable ETL pipelines using tools like Informatica or custom scripting solutions.
• Skilled in data modeling techniques including dimensional modeling for warehousing design.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Looker for visualization and reporting purposes.
• Experience with data management integration strategies involving linked data concepts and metadata management.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies to deliver complex projects on time.
• Strong analysis skills to interpret large datasets for insights that inform business strategies.
