Data Privacy & Consumer Protection Associate (Mid–Senior Level) Location: Washington, DC (Other US Offices Considered)

Salary: $275,000 – $345,000 (Washington, DC)

Practice Area: Data Privacy, Consumer Protection & Regulatory Investigations

Level: Mid–Senior Associate (4+ Years)

A nationally recognised law firm is seeking an experienced Data Privacy & Consumer Protection Associate to join its highly regarded privacy practice. The successful candidate will advise sophisticated corporate clients on complex regulatory investigations, privacy compliance and emerging legal issues involving digital advertising, consumer data and artificial intelligence. The role offers significant client exposure, opportunities to work on high-profile FTC and state attorney general investigations, and the chance to develop within an established, nationally recognised team.

Candidates should have at least four years of substantive privacy law experience, ideally gained at a leading national law firm. Strong experience defending government investigations involving corporate data practices, digital advertising and sensitive personal information is particularly desirable. Applicants should also demonstrate expertise advising on federal and state privacy legislation, including consumer protection, AdTech, children’s privacy, health data, data brokers, online safety and AI regulation. Excellent drafting, advocacy and client-facing skills are essential, alongside a commercial approach to navigating evolving regulatory and technological developments.

Outstanding academic credentials, relevant bar admission and strong interpersonal skills are required. A technical understanding of data flows and emerging technologies would be advantageous. The firm offers a competitive benefits package, hybrid working arrangements and opportunities for long-term professional development.
