Job Description:

Overview: TJX Digital is looking for an intelligent and motivated Co-op to join our growing Data Science team. We are offering an opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. During this co-op you'll learn about retail from the inside out, gain industry experience, and learn how Data Science is used within a corporate retail setting by supporting on strategic projects and analysis to drive real time business decisions. Ready to make an impact on the Data Science team and learn how data enables our retail business and our bottom line? Responsibilities: Projects and responsibilities could include:

• Performing data manipulation and cleaning, building regression models, and delivering insights to senior leadership with the broader goals of driving profitable sales and supporting long-term strategies.
• Past co-ops have worked on projects related to sales forecasting, personalization recommendations, store profitability, A/B testing and more.
• Creating dashboards and building reporting to support our business partners in Finance, Marketing, Digital Experience, Store Operations, and IT with real time data driven insights.
• Collaborating with our business partners on ad hoc analyses, ensuring their questions receive accurate and informed responses. Who we are looking for: We are looking for current students who are highly motivated self-starters, with the ability to prioritize effectively, be proactive and flexible, and demonstrate a strong bias for action in a fast-paced professional environment. Additional skills include:
• Problem solvers who can think creatively.
• Excellent communicators able to deliver results concisely and effectively.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Ability to adjust direction under constantly changing business conditions and needs.
• Experience with SQL, preferably with SQL Server.
• Experience with Python or another programming language.
• Experience with well-known quantitative techniques such as regression, significance testing, multivariate analysis.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables, charts, v-look up, etc.) and Microsoft Office. Key Qualifications:
• Students eligible for an intermediate or advanced co-op
• Data Science majors preferred (consideration may also be given to Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related major)
