Data Scientist

Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will work with energy-related datasets to identify patterns, support forecasting models, and enhance decision-making for solar and wind power projects. Daily activities include collecting, cleaning, and transforming data; building and validating statistical and machine learning models; and creating visualizations and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role also involves collaborating with engineering and operations teams to translate analytical insights into practical recommendations and performance improvements. The Data Scientist will document methodologies, maintain reproducible workflows, and contribute to continuous improvement of analytics processes.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Data Science and Statistics, including modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
• Proficiency in Data Analysis and Data Analytics for extracting insights, building dashboards, and supporting business and technical decisions.
• Ability to create clear, informative Data Visualization to communicate complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with data manipulation libraries and analytical tools.
• Comfort working with large datasets, databases, and version control tools in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience or strong interest in the energy, utilities, or renewable power sector is an advantage.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical results in a clear, structured way.
