Data Scientist

We are looking for a Data Scientist to frame complex problems and develop, evaluate and communicate effective AI and machine learning solutions. You will work across classical machine learning and large language models, using robust experimentation and evaluation practices.

Location: Manchester, UK

Basis: 12-month fixed term contract

Key Responsibilities

· Translate business challenges into well-defined data science and AI problems.

· Develop and evaluate classical machine learning and large language model solutions.

· Define and apply appropriate AI and machine learning metrics.

· Support prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation approaches.

· Design and analyse experiments to assess model performance and solution impact.

· Create model cards and clear documentation for developed solutions.

· Collaborate with UK and offshore teams and relevant stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

· Strong experience in problem framing for data science and AI use cases.

· Knowledge of AI and machine learning evaluation metrics.

· Experience developing and evaluating classical machine learning and LLM solutions.

· Understanding of prompt engineering and RAG fundamentals.

· Strong experiment design skills.

· Experience producing model cards or equivalent model documentation.
