Data Scientist

The Data Scientist directs analytics projects and activities geared towards improving the retail business of GOLDEN ABC. S/he performs data mining techniques, statistical analysis, and build quality prediction systems relevant to the business.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
• Design and implement predictive models to support business needs.
• Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.
• Solving business-related problems using data-driven techniques.
• Staying on top of analytical techniques such as machine learning, deep learning and text analytics.
• Build and maintain a large-scale analytics infrastructure to be used across the business.
• Collaborate with other business units to address successful predictive data models.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of BS Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Preferably with a Master’s Degree
• With experience as data scientist for at least 3 years. Preferably in a retail company
• Knowledgeable in advanced statistical techniques, programming languages and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications
• Good knowledge in advanced analytics; forecast modelling, or customer analytics
• Must know how interpret business data and translate into insightful recommendations
• Must have advanced knowledge in all Microsoft Office Applications and not limited to new software applications
• Knowledge in programming languages such as but not limited to preferably in different programming languages such as Python, R, Java, Clojure, Matlab, Pig or SQL
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously and meet set deadlines
